Egypt adds 2 gas wells to production with production of 390 mcfg/day

CAIRO – 21 April 2020: The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced Tuesday adding two new wells of natural gas to production in the Mediterranean region, with an average production of 390 million cubic feet of gas per day and 1,300 barrels of condensate per day.
The ministry said, in a statement, Tuesday, that the new well, "Zohr-17", has been placed in Zohr natural gas field in the Mediterranean Sea on production, after the completion of the drilling work for the southern region.

It pointed out that the production levels are gradually being reached to the maximum capacity of about 250 million cubic feet of gas per day, adding that drilling the new well and putting it on production come within the framework of an ambitious development plan for the field.

The ministry pointed out that with the completion of digging the new well, the number of wells that were drilled in the Zohr field reached 15 wells, 10 of which are in the northern region and 5 wells in the southern region.

The report pointed out that, within the ambitious plan to reach record levels of natural gas production from the Nile Delta region, the Belaim Petroleum Company "Petrobil" succeeded in placing the new well "Baltim Southwest - 7" on production with a maximum capacity of 140 million cubic feet of gas per day and 1300 barrels of condensate per day.

The Ministry confirmed that the production plan of 500 million cubic feet of gas per day was achieved during 7 months by drilling 4 wells and putting them on production instead of 6 wells that were planned to be drilled in order to achieve the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources plan to increase production while adhering to the policy of reducing costs and rationalizing expenditures .
